Luxury hotel chain Sofitel has opened a new hotel at London’s busy Heathrow Airport serving terminal 5 customers.

The hotel features a meeting and events venue as well as 605 luxury bedrooms and suites, 45 meeting rooms, a restaurant, theatre, lobby bar, tea salon, cocktail bar, gym and health spa.

The hotel joined T5 via a link bridge, connects to central London via the Heathrow Express, and has been built using similar design principles to Heathrow’s T5, incorporating five steel and glass atria.

The interior design principle is based on a ‘gateway to the world’ concept, which uses themes of countries and continents around the hotel.

The hotel is aimed towards sophisticated business travellers and offers individually designed meeting rooms, a tiered-seated theatre and three high-tech boardrooms.

Sofitel London Heathrow is owned and operated by Arora International Hotels under a franchise agreement with Accor Hospitality.
