The Wyndham Hotel Group has announced its first Wingate by Wyndham hotel outside the US and Canada.
The 137-room property in Chihuahua, Mexico, will open later this year.
Wingate by Wyndham brand senior vice president Bill Hall says the move is a natural progression as the Wyndham brand is already well established in the region.
Earlier this week, Wyndham announced the development of the 400-room Wyndham St Croix Golf Resort and Casino in the Virgin Islands.
The property will be developed by New Jersey-based Golden Resorts in joint ownership with Jericho All-Weather Opportunity Fund of Boca Raton, and managed by Wyndham Hotel Management Company.
The resort is expected to open in 2010.
Wyndham has also announced the establishment of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia-Pacific in Thailand.
Wyndham will manage Phuket’s 65-room Pantipa Spa Villa and Resort, which is due for completion in August 2008.
The Pantipa Spa Villa and Resort is set to become the first property to carry the Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia-Pacific brand in Asia.
The company also has associate resort arrangements in a number of Bali resorts including the Bali Dynasty Resort in South Kuta, Pat-Mase Villas in Jimbaran Bay and Swiss-Belhotel Bay View in Nusa Dua.
