Hotel chain Travelodge has launched a range of dog beds for pets travelling to Crufts in Birmingham this week.

Travelodge says it expects to host around 300 dogs during the prestigious show, which opens on Thursday.

Mini replicas of human king-size beds will be available, as well as a ‘Dogillow’ – “a snuggling pet pillow-bed” – which comes in two sizes for large/medium and small dogs.

Travelodge sleep director Leigh McCarron says a Travelodge survey found almost half of travellers would take their pets away more often if a pet bed service was available.

“The most popular pets to take on holiday are dogs and cats, although within the report some people admitted they have taken their pet horse, pony, snails, lizard, parrot and ferret on vacation with them.

“Pet owners get devastated at the thought of leaving their pets at home,” she says.
