Implementation of sustainability initiatives has helped Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai to reduce its CO2 emissions and energy consumption by 35%.

The first Jumeirah property in the Group’s portfolio replaced its HVAC system with new ABB engineering technology last year.

ABB ACH550 variable speed drives are integrated into the building management system, which helps to eliminate energy wastage and operating costs, according to zawya.com.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel director of engineering Keith Tose said that considering this is only the first phase of the installation, they are very impressed with the huge reductions in energy consumption that they have experienced.
