Amari India has unveiled expansion plans that includes opening seven new properties with a total of 1,050 rooms in India by 2015.
The properties will be in the limited service and mid-upper scale hotel segments, in metros and tier-II cities.
Amari India was created through a joint venture between Amari, Thailand’s leading hospitality group, and Ten Hotels.
The Indian development will be Amari’s first international expansion, after which it intends to operate 40 properties in the Asia Pacific region by 2015.
The group said it will invest $50m in growth initiatives, of which 15% will be catered towards the Indian development.
Amari Group CEO Peter Henley said that the group will be looking to sign management contracts shortly with Indian developers and hotel owners.
