DS Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to launch five properties in India by 2011-12 with an investment of Rs500 crore ($110.9m).
The company intends to open two hotels and a convention centre in Kolkata, a resort in Jim Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal, and hotels in Guwahati and Jaipur.
Construction work has already begun on all four properties.
The 60-room property in Uttranchal, featuring villas and cottages, will be launched by January 2011 and will be managed and owned by DS Hotels.
DS Hotels will sign a management agreement with international companies for three properties in Guwahati, Kolkata and Jaipur.
The company has signed a MoU with Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority to set up a 250-room, five-star hotel in Guwahati, while the Jaipur property will also have 250 rooms.
New pipeline properties in Ranthambore, Shimla, Mysore, Dehradun and Goa are also planned, according to travelbizmonitor.com.
