Guests at Denmark’s Crowne Plaza hotel are being asked to help generate electricity in return for a free meal.

Using exercise bikes attached to generators, the hotel’s guests will be asked to produce 10 watt hours of electricity, which equals approximately 15 minutes of cycling.

Guests taking part in the scheme will receive meal vouchers worth €26 ($36).

The scheme will launch on 19 April and if successful could be extended to other Crowne Plaza hotels.

The scheme will run for a year and will feature iPhones attached to the bikes to measure the electricity generated, according to the BBC.
