The 106-room Hotel Normandie in Los Angeles, USA, is expected to be renovated into the first marijuana-friendly hotel in the nation.

Built in the 1920s, the former residence was bought by John Evangelista who conceived the idea to convert it into a pot-friendly hotel.

Medical marijuana activist Dennis Peron is participating in the initiative.

Evangelista faces several financial and legal hurdles such as a lawsuit filed by the former owner regarding ownership share, according to the Los Angeles Times.
