Kempinski Group has started construction on the new five-star Accra Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana, which is expected to open in January 2012.

The 270-room hotel will feature two presidential suites, a 1,000-seat banquet hall, meeting rooms, a 3,000m² spa, swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and 400 underground car-park spaces.

Zakhem Construction will deliver the project, which is part of a mixed-use development, according to ghanaweb.com.

The Kempinski Group is one of the oldest luxury hotel operators in Europe.
