Plans for a four-star Novotel Hotel in Brisbane, Australia, were approved by Brisbane City Council’s planning sub-committee.

Costing $90m, the hotel will be located on the vacant land owned by Action Group Australia, a subsidiary of Action Group Holdings.

The 100m-high, 27-storey hotel will feature 289 rooms overlooking the Treasury Heritage precinct, Queens Park, the Brisbane River and South Bank.

The hotel comprises three parts – a podium, tower and crown – and will be complete in 2012, according to brisbanetimes.com.au.
