InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is to start a rewards programme where guests can earn points when they 'check in' on social networking site Gowalla via a mobile device. IHG is the first hotel company to use Gowalla's location-based service to combine mobile and physical check-ins. <

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is to start a rewards programme where guests can earn points when they ‘check in’ on social networking site Gowalla via a mobile device.

IHG is the first hotel company to use Gowalla’s location-based service to combine mobile and physical check-ins.

The rewards programme, which will start from 30 June this year, is in support of the recently launched Hit it Big summer promotion.

Guests can receive targeted reminders when they check in at participating IHG hotels.
