Las Vegas Sands Secures Macau Development Funding

Sands China, a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands, has secured $1.75bn funding for the completion of the Cotai Strip development in Macau.

The combined Shangri-La Hotels and Sheraton resort complex will add 6,000 hotel rooms.

The first phase of the development features 3,700 hotel rooms and suites from the Shangri-La and Sheraton hotel brands.

Additional retail, gaming and meeting facilities will also be added before the scheduled opening in 2011.

Phase II includes a 2,300-room Sheraton hotel tower, which will open in 2012.

The third phase includes plans for a St Regis hotel and serviced apartments will be announced at a later date.
