The report states that occupancy in London rose by 2.3% to 80.3% compared with the same period last year.

However, the average room rate has increased 7.1% from £110.51 ($172) to £118.40 ($184.5); a sign of recovery.

The cities of Liverpool, Leeds and Edinburgh have seen occupancy up 3.1% to 67.2% but room rates fell 3.7% to £60.31 ($93.9), according to traveldaily.co.uk.
