Canada-based Future Inns Hotel Group has deployed Acentic’s SMART IPTV system combined with Horizon high-speed internet connectivity for its first UK hotel, Future Inns Cardiff Bay.
Acentic has installed the system together with LG’s LD650 smart LCD TVs in all 200 rooms of Future Inns Cardiff Bay, using the hotel’s existing IP network.
The system replaces the set-top box with a software application that supports all functionality and on-screen usage and eliminates the need for external hardware or additional cabling.
Acentic CEO Richard Robinson said the SMART IPTV network has been developed to offer hotels and other multi-room businesses a cost-effective solution that adapts to its customers’ needs and requirements.

According to Acentic, the system is being further developed to interface with its Panorama SMART platform and support all mobile and on-screen apps, guest services and mobile devices.
Future Inns group operations manager Paul Lago said the smooth installation as well as the good picture and sound quality provides the hotel with smart technology and increases customer satisfaction.
Acentic provides internet access solutions, digital TV services and hospitality-focused mobile applications to hotels.
The company’s broadband and digital TV services are installed in hotel chains including Accor, Dorint, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental Hotels Group, Maritim, Marriott, Mövenpick and Starwood.
