InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the signing of its first hotel in Algeria, the Holiday Inn Algiers-Cheraga Tower.

Ramdane Group will develop the 25-storey, 243-room hotel, which will then run under the management of IHG.

IHG director of development, France and North Africa Brice Marguet said the Holiday Inn would fill a significant gap in a market that has no internationally branded midscale hotels.

"Holiday Inn Algiers-Cheraga Tower will provide much needed international standard midscale accommodation for international and local business travelers," Marguet added.

The hotel is part of a larger development in the area being developed by Ramdane’s subsidiary Modern Towers, and will feature 500m² of meeting space, a restaurant with 145 covers, a spa with indoor swimming pool and fitness facilities, and an outdoor swimming pool.
