Wyndham Hotel Group has inked a deal with MAP Property & Leisure Developments Angus to open the first Wyndham Hotels and Resorts branded property in Scotland.
The new 187-room Wyndham Grand The Angus will be the second Wyndham-branded hotel in the UK, after the Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour in London.
Slated to open in 2015, the hotel will offer ten two-bedroom luxury lodges that stand alongside an 18-hole championship golf course.
Amenities offered at the Wyndham Grand The Angus hotel will include a spa with eight treatment rooms, a 20m infinity pool, a jacuzzi, a gym and two dance studios.
The hotel will also feature restaurants, a hotel bar, a clubhouse bar and meeting and conference facilities.
Wyndham Hotel Group vice president of development for the UK and Western Europe Joel Goldman said the expansion of its brand within Europe, Middle East and Africa is part of the company’s overall growth strategy and the latest property will add to the collection.
"Scotland is a world-renowned golfing destination and this new resort will sit at the epicentre of Scottish golf, just a few miles from Carnoustie and near St Andrews and Gleneagles," Goldman added.
Within Europe and the Middle East, existing hotels in the collection include the Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour and the Wyndham Grand Regency Doha in Qatar.
Wyndham Hotel Group, a part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies, comprises over 7,150 hotels and about 609,300 rooms in 65 countries.
