City Inn has been rebranded as Mint Hotel in the UK because of a ‘misperception’ of the hotel brand.
Backed by professional research, the company claimed that the name did not do justice to the overall experience of the brand.
The hotel group, which was founded in 1995, is rebranding its hotels ahead of the launch of its two new properties in London and Amsterdam.
Mint Hotel will open its second London 583-room property at the Tower of London on 20 December and a 553-room hotel in Amsterdam in 2011.
“We are delighted to rebrand as Mint Hotel in Bristol, Glasgow, Birmingham, London (Westminster), Manchester and Leeds at the same time as unveiling our exceptional new properties at the Tower of London before Christmas and in Amsterdam in spring,” said chief executive and co-founder David Orr.
