The Taj Airport Garden Hotel in Sri Lanka is to be expanded and renovated through an investment of LKR1.5bn ($15.5m).

The renovation will add 100 rooms to the hotel, doubling its current capacity to 200.

The expansion project will begin in early January and is scheduled for completion in 2013.

The hotel’s rooms, restaurant and bar will also be renovated, bringing the hotel in line with international standards.

The Taj Airport Garden Hotel will be rebranded as the Gateway Hotel next January, according to dailynews.lk.
