A plan to build a $56m hotel and conference centre on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US, has been postponed.

The move was taken because the $21m in stimulus bonds did not sell by the cut-off date of 31 December 2010.

Other planned improvements to the golf course and the proposed new fire station will also be delayed, according to Walker County Messenger.

The project was expected to break ground by 1 April 2011 at Canyon Ridge.

Walker County was set to back some of the bonds, a move opposed by some citizens.
