Egypt is to allocate $368m to Egyptian Group of Tourism and Hotels (EGOTH) to support the renovation of historic hotels in the country.
EGOTH Company owns 22 hotels in Egypt, which will be renovated and promoted under the brand Historic Hotels of Egypt.
The historic hotels include the Shepheard Hotel in Cairo, which is being restored under the patronage of the Rocco Forte Luxury Collection hotel chain, the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, Nile Ritz Carlton Cairo in Cairo, Mena House Oberoi at the foot of the Pyramids, the Marriott in Cairo, The Palestine Hotel and the Cecil Hotel in Alexandria, and Winter Palace, according to city-of-hotels.com.
