Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will operate the new Movenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA in Malaysia, following the signing of a management agreement with hotel owner Lembaga Tabung Haji.
The 333-room hotel is scheduled to open in early 2014 and is housed on a 60,000m² site, which includes a convention and exhibition centre and a Haj complex.
“We are extremely delighted about our new partnership with Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, as it enables us to combine our local expertise with a leading globally recognised brand,” said Lembaga Tabung Haji’s group managing director and CEO Datuk Ismee Ismail.
The 26,000m² convention and exhibition centre will feature a ballroom, an exhibition hall, multifunction rooms and boardrooms.
The nine-storey hotel will also house a 250-seat restaurant, two speciality restaurants, a lobby and a convention centre, along with a wellness centre, fitness facilities, two swimming pools and shops.
