Starwood Hotels & Resorts is to open its first St Regis hotel in Amman, Jordan, in 2014.
The St Regis Amman is one of five hotel properties Starwood plans to open in the Middle East, including Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The hotel will be designed by New York-based Perkins Eastman Architects and will feature 270 guestrooms and suites, four restaurants, a cafe, bar, pool and pool bar, fitness centre and spa.
The hotel will also feature 9,144m² of meeting and events space, as well as a business centre.
The hotel will be owned by Al Maabar Abdoun Real Estate Development Company, a subsidiary of Al Maabar International Investments Abu Dhabi.
The project will extend Starwood’s portfolio in Jordan, where the company operates Sheraton and Le Meridien hotels, and has three additional properties in the pipeline.
