Starwood Hotel & Resorts is to expand its hotel portfolio in Canada by opening its third Sheraton brand hotel in Montreal.

The Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel will feature 476 guestrooms, 5,791m² of meeting space, an indoor / outdoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, steam room, sauna and a fitness centre.

Starwood’s other Montreal properties are Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel and Sheraton Laval Hotel.

The new hotel is part of Starwood’s expansion, which will add 50 new hotels and more than 20,000 rooms to the Sheraton portfolio over the next two years.

The property was acquired by Jesta Group in collaboration with Groupe Canvar in 2009. The hotel is undergoing renovations to all guestrooms and public spaces prior to opening in April 2011.
