Host Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, US, to invest $164m in renovating Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott hotel ahead of the 2014 Super Bowl.

Marriott will build a 3,048m² ballroom and upgrade the hotel’s food and beverage operations.

The project is expected to generate $60m in economic activity and create 250 jobs.
