InterContinental Hotels Group has opened the Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown Riverfront in Atlanta, US, following a $25m renovation.

The 1920s-built, seven-storey property was known as the historic Hotel King before it was converted into a dormitory and then a state office building.

The renovation to restore the building to an upscale boutique hotel began in 2009.

The hotel features 93 guestrooms and 27m² of meeting rooms.

The hotel is owned by Project King and managed by Nu Vieux, a Baton Rouge-based hospitality company, in a licence agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.
