Bird Hospitality Services (BHS), a subsidiary of India-based Bird Group, has acquired Royal Park Hotel in London, UK, from an Irish investment company for an undisclosed price.
The Royal Park Hotel, which is located on Westbourne Terrace, offers 48 rooms and suites, and three restored mid-19th century, Grade II-listed townhouses.
BHS will enhance the look of the hotel, which was constructed in 2004, and add a restaurant by the third quarter of 2011.
After the acquisition, the property will be managed by US-based hotel-management company Interstate Hotels and Resorts.
BHS plans to invest $400m in expanding its hotel business in India and the UK.
The India expansion includes opening five luxury hotels in partnership with the Dusit Thani Group of Thailand.
