The US hotel industry has reported improvements in all three key performance metrics for the week 27 March to 2 April 2011.

US hotel occupancy increased year-on-year by 12.2% to 60.8%, its average daily rate (ADR) rose by 5.3% to $100.18, while revenue per available room (revPAR) went up by 18.1% to $60.91.

Among key markets, Denver, Colorado reported the highest occupancy increase, rising 35.3% to 59.3%, followed by Houston, Texas, which saw an increase of 32.9% to 65.2%, and Atlanta, Georgia, which enjoyed a rise of 32.6% to 67.7%.

In terms of ADR, the largest increase was in New Orleans, Louisiana, where ADR rose 45.7% to $137.60.

New Orleans also achieved the largest increase in revPAR by 86.4% to $98.23, followed by Houston, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta and Nashville, which all saw revPAR increases of more than 45%.
