Residence Inn Algiers Marriott International has announced a plan to add six new properties to its 37 previously announced hotels in its Middle East and Africa pipeline.

The newly announced hotels include a 335-room Courtyard by Marriott Cairo Mirage City in Egypt, owned by Golf Hotels Corporation, which is expected to open in 2012.

The Ritz-Carlton, a 495-room luxury hotel owned by The Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will open as the first Ritz-Carlton hotel in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh in 2011.

The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, a 120-room hotel owned by Sienna Investment Group, will open in 2013.

Owned by Trust Real Estate SPA, the 247-room Courtyard by Marriott Algiers will open in 2014 and will be the first Courtyard property in Algeria.

Residence Inn by Marriott Algiers, a 147-unit hotel owned by the Trust Real Estate SPA will open in 2014 as the third Residence Inn in the region.

Marriot has 43 hotels under development which are scheduled to open by 2016, following which Marriott International’s portfolio in the region will increase to 74 hotels and resorts across its seven brands, comprising 17,600 rooms.
