Renaissance Hotels has opened St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London’s King’s Cross following a £150m restoration project at the original site, one of London’s most iconic hotels.
The restoration of the hotel began in 2005 as part of the restoration of St Pancras Station, home of the Eurostar.
The hotel has been redesigned by Manhattan Loft Corporation in collaboration with Galliford Try and RHWL Architects, conservation architect Richard Griffiths and interior design firm GA Design International.
The hotel was originally opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand Hotel, an icon of Victorian Gothic architecture in London.
The hotel offers 245 rooms over five floors, nine meeting rooms, 542m2 of lobby as well as two restaurants.
The hotel will be owned by Marriot through its Renaissance chain of hotels.
