US-based hotel investment company Thayer Lodging Group has acquired the 337-room JW Marriott in San Francisco and the 304-room Hotel Palomar in Atlanta.

Thayer recently acquired the JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square from Ashford Hospitality Trust for $96m. The property has undergone a $22m renovation.

Thayer also acquired the Hotel Palomar, which is situated in Midtown Atlanta, from private investment group WP Partners.

Thayer rebranded the property as a Renaissance Hotel within the Marriott International lifestyle collection of brands.
