Galaxy Entertainment Group has opened the HK$14.9bn ($1.9bn) Galaxy Macau casino resort in Macau after a delay lasting nearly two years because of the global economic crisis.
The resort comprises three hotels, including one run by Singapore’s Banyan Tree and another by Japan’s Okura, with a total of 2,200 rooms.
The casino has 450 gambling tables and space for up to 1,500 slot machines, a wave pool and a man-made beach built with 350t of sand.
The 550,000m² resort also offers more than 50 restaurants.
Hotel Okura Macau features 500 rooms, including 60 suites with sizes ranging from 46m² to 127m², a gym, swimming pools and six function rooms with a total area of 550m².
