The Novotel hotel chain has unveiled the $65m Novotel Auckland Airport hotel in Auckland, New Zealand, which is equipped with high-tech elements to block out noise levels from the nearby airport.

Owned by the Tainui Group, NZX-listed Auckland Airport and French hospitality firm Accor, the 13,000m² hotel’s acoustic elements include double glazing with a 600mm cavity layered between American 21mm exterior laminated glass and 10mm interior glass.

The hotel features a lobby and a restaurant and bar area on the ground floor, seven boardrooms accommodating up to 12 people on the first floor, and a 200-seat main banqueting suite and three boardrooms on the second floor.

The property was built by Hawkins Construction.
