India-based St Laurn Hotels and Resorts is to invest Rs30bn ($669m) in opening 15 new hotels across India by 2015.
The company will open a third of the hotels in the state of Gujarat with an investment of Rs10bn ($223m).
St Laurn director of operations Sunil Kariyaa told The Economic Times that the company is already present in Ahmedabad and plans to expand to other cities in the state.
“We have already bought land for a 200-room hotel in Surat,” said Kariyaa. “This hotel is expected to be ready by the end of 2012.”
St Laurn also plans to open hotels in Jaipur, Ranchi, Raipur and Panvel.
