Hotel chain Travelodge is to invest £135m in opening 37 hotels around the UK’s 15 national parks.

The rural expansion is part of Travelodge’s UK expansion plans.

The properties will be opened in locations such as Minehead in Exmoor, Grasmere in the Lake District, Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia and Aviemore in the Cairngorms, and will range in size from 30 to over 100 rooms.

The hotel chain has 33,502 rooms and 475 hotels across its British, Irish and Spanish portfolio, and aims to have 100,000 rooms and 1,100 hotels by 2025.
