The Brazilian hotel market registered a 17.3% rise in revenue per available room (revPAR) for 2010, according to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels executive vice-president Ricardo Mader said revPAR in 2011 had reached the double-digit growth mark in the 16 hotels the company asset-managed throughout Brazil, which is indicative of the overall market conditions.

The number of rooms under construction and in advanced stages of planning for the next three years represent a 6.8% increase on Brazil’s existing rooms.

The pipeline of properties in the country include 198 hotels with 30,500 rooms, largely concentrated in the economy and mid-market segments.
