India-based Citrus Hotels & Resorts is to invest Rs6bn ($131m) over the next three years in doubling the number of its properties to 15 and its hotel rooms to 1,500, according to The Economic Times.

The new properties, for which the company spent Rs2bn on land acquisition, will be located at Thekkadi, Tadoba, Alibaug, Jodhpur, Thane, Lower Parel and Bandra.

Citrus has already spent Rs3.5bn on eight properties.

Citrus is part of Mirah Hospitality and has seven operational hotels and resorts with a total of 450 rooms in Goa, Alleppey, Pimpri, Mahabaleshwar and Sriperembudur.
