Raffles Hotels and Resorts has announced the addition of seven new properties to its global portfolio.

The 49-villa Raffles Resort Konottaa in The Maldives will open in autumn next year, followed in winter by the historic Le Royal Monceau hotel in Paris.

The Chinese city of Tianjin’s first penthouse hotel, the 166-room Raffles Tianjin Hotel, will also open in December 2008.

In 2010, Raffles plans to open three hotels – the Raffles Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, the Raffles St Lucia in the West Indies and the Raffles Amartha in Jimbaran, Bali.

Finally, the firm says it will open the Raffles Da Nang Resort and Residences in Vietnam in 2011, featuring 150 rooms and suites along with 15 private residential villas.

Earlier this month Raffles opened its first Middle Eastern property in Dubai. The 248-room hotel is an eye-catching 18-storey pyramid structure, inkeeping with nearby Wafi City’s Egyptian-themed mall.
