Fairmont Hotels and Resorts will double its portfolio of properties over the next five years.
The expansion will focus on the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Two properties are planned for Egypt in the next year, with developments in China expected to open in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Fairmont says ten hotels will open in the Middle East over the next five years, including three properties in Dubai, two in Abu Dhabi and one in Oman.
Fairmont currently operates 52 properties worldwide.
