The owner of Edinburgh’s Hearts football club will soon open his own hotel in the Scottish city, according to the Scotsman.

Russian-born businessman Vladimir Romanov will spend £15m on redeveloping the A-listed site of the former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in St Andrew Square for the hotel.

Romanov has already secured the former RBS property in a £20m deal he says will help address the shortage of quality hotel rooms in the city.
