Sheraton Hotels and Resorts has launched the largest expansion in the brand’s history, announcing it will open 54 hotels by 2009.
The Starwood Hotels and Resorts brand will open one hotel every 12 days in cities and regions around the world including Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Washington DC in the US, as well as Ireland, Argentina, Egypt and China. .

It will also open three new resorts – two in China and one in the US, bringing the total number to 63 by the end of the year, AP reports.
Sheratons aims to open an additional 85 properties in 2010.
Sheraton operates 406 hotels and resorts in 71 countries.
