Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened its first aloft property, at Montreal Airport.

Developed and owned by the joint venture between Silver Hotel Group and Northampton Group, the 136-room aloft Montreal Airport offers a variety of intuitive technologies, atmospheric public spaces and a whole array of appealing guest amenities, Starwood says.

Designed in conjunction with David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group, the guest rooms feature loft-like nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows to create a bright, airy environment.

The aloft brand has already announced 88 development projects, in more than ten countries.

In 2009 aloft will open of more than 50 hotels worldwide.
