Hotel investors in Ukraine plan to streamline the development of hospitality sector projects ahead of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship.

The nation is hoping to capitalise on its status as host of Euro 2012 with a package of hotel investment incentives including tax efficiencies, streamlined construction permit procedures and land plot allocation.

A comprehensive programme of process improvements and incentives were discussed at the Euro 2012 long-term investment opportunities for Ukraine’s hotel and leisure sector conference, which took place on 31 May in Kiev.

Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov pledged to activate a dedicated hospitality sector hotline to help small hotel investors beat bureaucratic delays.

Kolesnikov said the programme is an opportunity to expand Ukraine’s hospitality sector and aid in the growth of tourism market, according to worldfootballinsider.com.

Ukraine needs 200,000 new hotel rooms to meet anticipated demand for the tournament.
