Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Aloft Tempe hotel in Arizona, US, has received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the US Green Building Council.

Aloft Tempe is the seventh LEED-certified property in Starwood’s portfolio and the first for the Aloft brand.

Starwood is rolling out initiatives across its portfolio that aim to conserve energy and water, reduce waste and enhance indoor environmental quality for guests.

Aloft Tempe is owned in a joint venture between Triyar Hospitality and Warburg Pincus Real Estate, a New York-based private equity fund.

Triyar Hospitality is a US real estate development company.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide owns 1,000 properties under brands St Regis, Sheraton, Four Points, Aloft and Element.
