Marriott International has announced it will open a 160-room hotel in Guyana in 2013, the first Marriott hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The hotel will operate under a management agreement with Atlantic Hotel, which is currently owned by the Government of Guyana, as a part of public-private partnership mode.
The hotel will be located at the corner of the Atlantic Ocean and Demerara River, and will have a casino, nightclub, restaurant and boardwalk.
The architecture and interior design will be carried out by Urbahn Architects in New York.
