The renovated Pera Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, has reopened following a two and a half year renovation.

The 118-year-old landmark five-star Pera features Oriental and Occidental styles in its design by Levantine architect Alexander Vallaury.

The €23m ($29m) restoration was undertaken by Istanbul-based Besiktas Tourism Investment, which also manages the hotel.

The hotel features 115 rooms with grand halls and retains 300 pieces of original furniture, according to canoe.ca.
