The number of night stays at hotels in Hungary rose by 0.4% to 10.5 million from January to July 2010 compared with a year earlier, according to a report by the Central Statistics Office.
The report said foreign guest nights rose 1.8% to 5.2 million and domestic guest nights fell 0.9% to 5.4 million.
The number of guests at hotels rose 0.9% to four million from January to July this year while foreign guests accounted for 1.9 million, which is a 5.6% rise from a year earlier.
The average hotel occupancy rate was 42.7% for the six-month period, while five-star hotels had an average occupancy rate of 57% and four-star hotels registered 47.9% occupancy.
Gross revenue from accommodation rose 0.2% year-on-year to Ft126bn ($559m).
The gross average price of a hotel room was Ft13,902 ($61.3) and the gross revenue per available room stood at Ft5,938 ($26), according to MTI Econews.
