Hotels in the city of Palma de Majorca in the island of Majorca are implementing a UNWTO energy initiative.

A total of 25 participating hotels in the coastal city are participating in the hotel energy solutions project, which aims to promote environmentally friendly tourism.

The UNWTO-led initiative aims to help hotels across the EU to increase their use of energy efficiency and renewable energy, according to iwantsun.co.uk.

The green strategy implementation will allow the hotels to reduce their operational costs, increase competitiveness, promote sustainability and mitigate impact on climate change.
