India-based property developer Hiranandani Group has unveiled plans to invest Rs1,000m ($22.5m) in the expansion of its hotel chain Rodas in India.

Hiranandani Group chairman Niranjan Hiranandani said a five-star, 160-room hotel will be launched in the country this year.

The group operates a 32-room designer business ‘ecotel’ hotel in Powai, in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

The company has also acquired a 27-room hotel in Dubai, UAE, and plans to renovate it into a five-star hotel by 2013.
