Al Zorah Development, a joint venture of the Government of Ajman and Solidere International, has signed an agreement with Indian hotel operator The Oberoi Group to develop and operate a luxury resort on the northern coast of the Emirate.

The new luxury resort, which will be managed by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, will include 113 guestrooms and suites, many of which will feature private pools.

The two and three-bedroom villas in the resort will include their own private swimming pools and gardens.

The project will also feature an all-day dining restaurant and a beach restaurant providing guests with a fine dining experience in an exquisite setting.

"Six Construct has started on-site construction, and will likely complete the hotel by summer 2015."

Piero Lissoni, an Italian architect and designer, will design the hotel, and will work with the Norr Group to implement the design concept.

The hotel will span 100,000m² with 290m of beachfront offering pristine views of the Gulf.

Six Construct, the main contractor of the project, has started on-site construction, and will likely complete the hotel by summer 2015.

Al Zorah believes its project, which is located on 5.4 million m² of land, could become a premium tourism destination in the region.

Al Zorah Development is engaged in the development of hotels, resorts, marinas, entertainment facilities and restaurants in Al Zorah, while The Oberoi Group operates 20 luxury hotels, resorts and cruise vessels under the Obero brand and ten five-star hotels and resorts under the Trident brand.
