Aloft Hotels, a subsidiary of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has opened a new hotel, Aloft Yancheng, in Jiangsu Province in eastern China.
The new hotel, which is owned by Yancheng Powerlong Real Estate Development, is the first international hospitality brand in the city and the seventh Aloft hotel in China.
Located near the city’s main downtown area, the hotel is a short distance from the new business district, and major transportation hubs as well as travel destinations like Dazong Scenic Lake, the Nine-Dragon Scenic Region, various coastal plains and two nature reserves.
Aloft Yancheng has 299 guestrooms featuring loft-inspired spaces with high ceilings and oversized windows, signature ultra-comfortable beds, and spa-inspired showers with amenities by Bliss Spa products.
The guestrooms also have high-tech office and entertainment equipment with complimentary wireless Internet access and plug & play, a one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry all linked to a 42in LED TV.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Greater China president Qian Jin said that Aloft reflects a growing demand for design-led hotels with a lively social scene in emerging cities.
"We are thrilled to add Yancheng, an ideal location, to our robust portfolio in China," Jin added.
The hotel also has 350m² of event space equipped with high-speed Internet access and AV equipment.
Amenities at the new hotel include Plus Re:fuel by Aloft, the 24/7 pantry for self-service light meals and snacks; Nook, the hotel’s signature restaurant offering international cuisine and famous local dishes; Re:charge fitness centre; and Splash, an indoor swimming pool.
The hotel’s signature W XYZSM bar offers cocktails with on-site recreational amenities like billiards and table tennis, and features up-and-coming music acts that are part of Aloft’s signature ‘Live at Aloft Hotels’ events.
Aloft Yancheng hotel manager Richard Guo said that, as the first internationally branded hotel in the city, the opening is a major milestone for Aloft and the city of Yancheng.
"Our central location, urban design and buzzing social atmosphere will energise the hospitality and entertainment scene of Yancheng, attracting both savvy travellers and residents alike," Guo added.
